58th Annual Hammond Christmas Parade

HAMMOND, La., Tuesday, Nov. 22, 2016 – The Rotary Club of Hammond is to hold the 58th Annual Hammond Christmas Parade this year on Friday, December 2. This year’s parade sponsor is Star Equipment with this year’s theme being “A Starry Christmas”.

The parade will begin at Tornado Drive (by the Southeastern University Center), taking off promptly at 6pm.

The Rotary Club is encouraging parade participants to be ready for the commencement of the parade by 5 p.m., with the line-up beginning at 3 p.m.

In order to hold the parade in a timely manner, this year the judges’ panel will not judge performers or bands; however, the parade’s audience will be given the opportunity to judge all parade participants via Facebook. The Golden H Christmas Spirit Award will be given to the winning participant with the winning high school band being granted $100.

This year parade participants/organizations will be given the chance to be talked about on TV as the parade will be filmed again this year. Participants are encouraged to submit information about themselves to be announced during the parade by the judges’ platform.

For any questions concerning rules/regulations you can contact the Hammond Chamber of Commerce at 985-345-4457.
